I’m excited to share that my papercutting piece Moonlight Tempest is part of the exhibition Intersections: Threads of Tradition and Identity – Gender and Sexual Identity at Arts Etobicoke!
This piece draws on the power and symbolism of mermaids—figures often tied to femininity, mystery, and danger. Inspired by the legend of sirens luring sailors to their deaths, Moonlight Tempest explores how femininity can be both enchanting and feared, echoing the ways women’s identities have been shaped and misunderstood through time.
Created entirely from hand-cut paper, the work blends storytelling, myth, and personal symbolism—elements I often return to in my art practice.
